The Outdoor Education Group (OEG) has a 40-year history of working with schools and community groups to deliver meaningful experiences in the outdoors. In this Review, we'll share not just some of our more recent stories from the field and behind the scenes, but our vision and ambitions for the next 40 years.
OEG has been known for our journey-based programs and extended expeditions, and these, being a key part of our DNA, will always have a place in our work. We love the way extended programs bring groups together as they face unexpected challenges – be it inclement weather, group
dynamics, navigation or even simply homesickness.
As you’ll read, journey programs sit at the upper end of our outdoor education sequences and work best when applying skills
and experience carefully developed in preceding years. Here at OEG, we are able to offer a full suite of venues designed to support this development, ranging from our residential camps in Victoria and New South Wales to our bush camps, which provide an ideal transition between the comforts of a fully residential facility and the independence of a journey program.
The work of OEG plays a vital part in improving the health and wellbeing of Australians and the Australian environment, and we hope you enjoy reading about some of our key moments of 2024 in this Review.
