Promote wellbeing in your students through positive education in the outdoors
COVID-19 has turned the lives of young people upside down. For the current generation of students, never before has their education suffered such a disruption. These students changed their way of life dramatically. After a period of homeschooling, digital learning, isolation and staying indoors, it is expected that some students might feel uneasy about their return to school.
Not only will the impacts of COVID-19 be long-lasting for some, but others will also feel anxiety upon returning to school. Nurture a sense of wellbeing in your students with our return to school post-COVID-19 incursions. After an unsettling few months, allow your students to explore friendship outside of the classroom. Without leaving the school grounds, enable your students to create meaningful and powerful memories that will stay with them for years to come. Encourage wellness in both body and mind through positive education and mindfulness in the outdoors.
Because each young learner is unique, our programming allows for peaks, valleys, turbulence, excitement, periods of calm, and periods of activity. Students move through a sequence of outcome-based activities, prefaced with a briefing, and concluded with a debrief aimed toward self-reflection and recognition of one's own capabilities. This reflection is a vital part of experiential education.
Wellbeing and mindfulness - group yoga led by your students, allows for quiet minds and relaxed bodies. They are taught that a quiet time-out can be re-energising and effective in times of stress.
Fun and friendship – strengthen friendships by reconnecting students and building trust through a series of physical activities and games. Small group activities such as tent set-up call for students to support one another through effective communication techniques.
Positive education – an introduction to trangia cooking challenges students to contribute to the group process and encourages them to do something kind for others, like cleaning a peer's Trangia, enhancing their sense of empathy.
