Support classroom learning by introducing your students to the excitement of a day at camp.
For many young people, school camp is a right of passage – a milestone experience which they remember well into adulthood. From engaging in a variety of setting to developing and building upon personal competencies, school camp is a liberating way for students to interact with the natural world while learning a range of invaluable life skills.
Our discover a day at camp excursions offer a unique venue for growth, allowing your young learners to explore independence and self-confident while socialising and learning new skills. Let us guide them in exploring a variety of experiences in diverse settings they may not otherwise get to enjoy. Give your students access to the school camp experience in a single day.
Discover a day at camp excursions are conducted at Camp Wombaroo (Southern Highlands, NSW) and Camp Marysville (Marysville, Victoria).
Your students will have access to many thrilling camp-based activities including cycling, climbing, canoeing and/or bushwalking.
Because each young learner is unique, our programming allows for peaks, valleys, turbulence, excitement, periods of calm, and periods of activity. Students move through a sequence of outcome-based activities, prefaced with a briefing, and concluded with a debrief aimed toward self-reflection and recognition of one's own capabilities. This reflection is a vital part of experiential education.
Fun and friendship– a short bushwalking journey requires students to work together collaboratively and to have confidence in one another's contributions. They must support each other emotionally and physically as they master new skills and navigate their way together.
Communication – a series of team-building initiatives require students to hone, not only their listening and verbal skills but their nonverbal communication skills also. They must explore and adapt their communication style and effectively respond to their peers in order to succeed.
Social and personal responsibility – canoeing, abseiling or high ropes empower students to take responsibility for making their own choices. They are encouraged to set their own, personal challenges and must learn to support and encourage each other as they discover new skills and push beyond their comfort zones.
