Strengthen the connections amongst your students and staff by allowing them to share in an adventure
Whether it's the beginning of a new school year or the start of a new semester, developing positive relationships is a crucial part of building a productive classroom environment, conducive to learning. Connectedness fosters a sense of belonging, which is an essential foundation for learning and can increase academic achievement, positive behaviours and overall emotional wellbeing.
Our excursions in connecting students and school staff create an inclusive space where students and staff can work together, support and encourage each other to learn. Empower your students by sharpening their decision making and problem-solving skills. Instil a sense of social and personal responsibility in them. Create a culture which values and recognises the unique contributions of all your students.
Cycle at various locations throughout Metro Sydney, enjoy orienteering at Darebin Parklands, canoe through the changing landscapes of Lane Poole Reserve or abseil at Kuitpo Forest.
Because each young learner is unique, our programming allows for peaks, valleys, turbulence, excitement, periods of calm, and periods of activity. Students move through a sequence of outcome-based activities, prefaced with a briefing, and concluded with a debrief aimed toward self-reflection and recognition of one's own capabilities. This reflection is a vital part of experiential education.
Decision making and problem-solving – a short bushwalking journey challenges students to master basic compass and map-reading skills together. They must work collaboratively and are encouraged to have confidence in their approach and well as considering the process of their peers.
Communication – a series of small group activities such as tent set-up, require students to employ a variety of communication techniques. Students must not only consider the most effective way to communicate with peers, but they must also listen.
Social and personal responsibility - canoeing, abseiling, rock climbing or mountain biking call on students to work together and encourage each other as they learn new skills and push beyond their comfort zones. They will celebrate their peer's victories and consider each other at all times as they follow safety instructions.
